‘Ten Policies to Unleash American Energy and Fuel Recovery’ (API gets nine of ten right)

By Robert Bradley Jr. -- June 27, 2022 3 Comments

” … it is time for an energy awakening – for the natural gas and oil supply chain and the government at all levels to open a new era of working together to ensure that essential energy resources are unlocked; to encourage investment opportunities and accelerate infrastructure development; and to strengthen global energy security, affordability and reliability.” (API, below)

The American Petroleum Institute (API) has represented the larger integrated oil companies since its founding just over a century ago. Much of its early mission was to standardize machinery specifications as well as accounting practices to modernize and streamline the industry. But API’s other major function has been politics, which became so great that the trade group moved from New York City to Washington, D.C. in 1969.

Often, the self-interest of the majors was the free market, particularly in the troubled 1970s.…

Big Oil to Little Joe: Atlas Does Not Need to Shrug

By Robert Bradley Jr. -- June 23, 2022 1 Comment

“In the short term, the U.S. government could enact … waivers of Jones Act provisions and some fuel specifications to increase supplies. Longer term, government can promote investment through clear and consistent policy that supports U.S. resource development, such as regular and predictable lease sales, as well as streamlined regulatory approval and support for infrastructure such as pipelines.” – ExxonMobil to Biden

“We need clarity and consistency on policy matters ranging from leases and permits on federal lands, to the ability to permit and build critical infrastructure, to the proper role of regulation that considers both costs and benefits…. Most importantly, we need an honest dialogue….” – Chevron to Biden

It’s cosmetics time again with Biden and energy. DOE Secretary Jennifer Granholm is meeting today with oil executives in the symbolic quest to reduce gasoline and diesel prices.…

Offshore Obstructionism: Letter to Biden (July 1, 2022, deadline nears)

By Robert Bradley Jr. -- June 10, 2022 2 Comments

“The world needs energy from many sources, including oil and natural gas…. The Gulf of Mexico currently represents over 15 percent of U.S. oil and natural gas production that is also some of the lowest-carbon intensive production in the world with a small environmental footprint.”

“For new offshore lease sales to be held, a new 5-year Offshore Leasing Program must be finalized to replace the current program which is scheduled to expire on June 30, 2022….”

The Biden Administration is at war with itself. Its anti-fossil-fuel policy is in shambles, with a dire verdict just ahead in November. The Biden puppeteers talked a big game of more drilling and production now, but behind the scenes it is all obstructionism all of the time.

The latest ruse is the Biden Administration’s sinister plan to violate its duty and protocol to release a new five-year plan for oil and gas development of the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS), due July 1, 2022.…

Trump Correct on the Paris Climate Accord (five year anniversary of withdrawal decision)

By Robert Bradley Jr. -- June 1, 2022 1 Comment

Editor Note: On this day in 2017, President Trump announced that the U.S. would withdraw from the Paris Climate Accord. On November 4, 2019, the U.S. formally notified the United Nations of such, which went into effect one year later. President Biden reversed the withdrawal to officially rejoin the Paris Agreement on his first day in office.

“Thus, as of today, the United States will cease all implementation of the non-binding Paris Accord and the draconian financial and economic burdens the agreement imposes on our country. This includes ending the implementation of the nationally determined contribution and, very importantly, the Green Climate Fund which is costing the United States a vast fortune.”

THE PRESIDENT: One by one, we are keeping the promises I made to the American people during my campaign for President …. …
