‘Texans for Economic Liberty’: Wind and Solar Fake Group

I would like to know how to get in touch with “Texans for Economic Liberty.” Do they have their own phone number? Or is the contact deep within a PR firm in Austin, Texas or in Washington, DC? Please respond, anyone, in the comments section.

A hot summer puts the Texas power grid on the cusp of failure. Wind and solar nonperformance is at issue. Conservation orders, sure enough, have been issued by ERCOT, as have mandatory orders for the ‘reliables’ to postpone maintenance.

What does the Texas wind and solar industry do to shore up support to keep the gravy train on the tracks? The world is watching Texas, with February 2021’s debacle now threatening living standards during opposite weather condition.

Evidently, one of the PR strategies was to form a shadowy front group to extol the virtues of Texas, competition, and freedom. But then comes repeated exhortations for an “all of the above” energy policy with wind turbines and solar panels pictured with a drilling rig.

Sounds fair, a little middle-groundish, right?.

Wrong! It’s a bait-and-switch–and triple deceit.

1. Being a patriotic Texan means wind and solar. In fact, Texans should know that these politically correct, economically incorrect energies have wounded the once-proud Texas grid.
2. Freedom and competition are congruent with (government mandates and special privileges to) wind and solar. No, they are just the opposite.
3. An “all of the above’ energy policy is somehow rational. No, in a real free market of “creative destruction,” the good must drive out the bad. And the bad should not be allowed to enter the market via special government favor. Economics 101: scarce resources mean the good, not all of the above.

“We believe in free markets and capitalism not government regulation and control,” the website states, adding:

We are here to build an army of Texans who want more free-market competition and less government regulation. Together, we can ensure that the Texas economy is open and free. If you support slashing unnecessary government regulations, free markets, and innovation – then sign the petition and join us today.

But there is no information on their website about who they are and what they are really trying to accomplish. BUT if ‘Texans for Economic Liberty’ is really “free market” and pro “capitalism,” their public policy agenda should champion the following:

• Repeal or expiration of the Production Tax Credit for wind power
• Repeal or expiration of the Investment Tax Credit for solar power
• Repeal of the Public Utility Regulatory Practices Act (PURPA), including the must-take provision for wind and solar
• Abolition of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) with legislative direction to end mandatory open access and wholesale planning of electricity and to allow companies and consumers to freely bargain. [1]
