We’ve taken reliable and affordable energy for granted for so long. But recent state and federal energy policies have served to remind Americans (and Europeans) that reliable and affordable energy depends upon markets, property rights, and other rule of law institutions. Tinker with energy supplies, technologies, and grids and a cascade of unexpected failures will follow.
